I grew up amidst eucalyptus trees, a Mediterranean tree very similar to the Cypress, and as a child, they represented to me everything magical and everything possible! They were the majestic homes to wildlife, their puzzles of long bark became river boats when it rained, and they protected us from wind and flood. I could only imagine what it might be like to live in their trunks or climb to their highest branches for a view. Likewise, the Cypress Tree invokes a cathedral-like sense of awe. A robust tree, the Cypress has a natural sense of exuberance and a weighty symbolism associated with creed or belief, the cross we bear, deep learning, and protective care.
